The successful candidate is a self-motivated, energetic team player with eight plus years of experience in industrial power and control system design. The ideal candidate has engineering experience with electrical power systems; industrial instrumentation and control systems; working with owners’ facility engineers and construction team; reviewing vendor packaged drawings; project management; and client management. Candidate should have experience working with a multidisciplinary team of engineers.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Registration as a Professional Engineer (P.E.)
  • +8 years of experience in electrical instrumentation and control (E&IC) engineering that is applicable to designing for energy industries (hydrogen, solar, battery energy storage systems (BESS), oil & gas, Petrochem)
  • Experience with electrical grid tie ins and utility providers (preferred).
  • Experience in the power industry associated with electrical engineering and design of HV and MV substations, HV transmission systems, and MV distribution systems (preferred).
  • Experience with specifying E&IC systems and electrical equipment and data sheets, including but not limited to low/medium switchgears, MCC’s, VFD’s, soft starters, transformers etcand working with vendors.
  • Knowledgeable in battery backup systems, battery charging systems, and uninterruptible power supplies.
  • Ability to create and/or review electrical one lines; perform electrical studies, including but not limited to load studies, short circuit, motor starting etc.
  • Ability to create and/or review Area Classification, Power, Lighting, Grounding, Cable Tray, and Heat Tracing drawings and calculations, as needed.
  • Performing electrical system modelling, arc flash risk assessments, and electrical coordination studies using ETAP, EasyPower, or SKM software packages
  • Able to develop accurate electrical scopes of work, electrical engineering manhour estimates and proposals.
  • Experience with total installed cost (TIC) development for electrical and control systems
  • Experience with peer reviews of E&IC system designs
  • Ability to write and edit technical engineering reports.
  • Possess knowledge of industry codes including NEC, IEEE, ANSI, NEMA, and NFPA
  • Participate in project meetings with clients and project team to define project objectives and coordinate design issues with other disciplines.
  • Ability to supervise, manage, review and provide comments to the electrical work of others.
  • Ability to travel to industrial sites, client offices or to coordinate with client’s onsite team as needed
  • Experience providing Owner’s Engineering services preferred.
  • Excellent leadership, supervisory, and writing and verbal communication skills.

Relocation assistance is available; salary to $140k. This position is not eligible for sponsorship.
